I’ve been a vegetarian for more than a year and I just realized (dumb, I know) that my ballet slippers (their not pointe shoes) are made with leather. Can I still be considered a vegetarian if I keep wearing them? I’m quite serious about being a ballerina and a vegetarian. So there’s my dilema. Thanks.

Also, canvas shoes wouldn’t work because I do competitions and ballet exams, so canvas shoes would be unnacceptable.

I read some answers on Ballet questions about being too old, the majority of people said anything above the age of 16 is too old to become a professional ballet dancer but “you can become good at it and dance on pointe” My question is to what extent can you become good at it? I’ve been considering ballet lessons for exercise and to become more flexible. Is it possible to achieve this with Ballet? And become flexible to what extent? For example if I practiced could I do the splitz and overall become a pretty good ballet dancer?
