HELP?The Nutcracker?

 the nutcracker
My friend invited me to watch the nutcracker ballet in seattle washington. the company is “pacific northwest ballet” and i know its a pretty big show company..I have no idea wether i dress up as formal (such as a dress) or just casual. This does not show up on the website. Also, it would be really embarrassing if they picked me up and everyone was wearing formal clothing and i was just wearing a jacket and boots..

call her and ask her what to wear. if all else fails, a skirt and a blazer would do nicely.

Unless you have box seats, and there is some kind of extravagant gala event before or after, a nice well fitting(comfort is essential at such an event)street dress would be appropriate.

Unless you are a “hippie”, or something; and then, attire is an unimportant consideration anyway.

But, best to check with those you are going with, to be certain what attire would be most appropriate.

You can wear anything you want to the theatre nowadays. I’ve even seen people wear shorts, though I think that’s rather extreme.

Think about what you would wear to a nice dinner. Dress slacks or a skirt and a nice blouse. This should be a safe way to go.
