How do I do a twist out, coils, and kinky twists?

the twist
Whenever I twist or braid my hair, it never looks like a twist out. I looks kind of wavy but never like twist outs are supposed to be. It never looks “clumped together”. The texture of my hair is very coarse. Is there a certain way that you have to twist the hair? How long do you have to leave it up? By the way, how do you do coils? And with kinky twist, do you separate the parted section of hair into three, then combined it into two once you’ve braided a couple of times? How do you keep the kinky twist from coming down? Do you use glue? Do you burn it? I know you suppose to rod the hair at the end to keep it curled, but how long do you suppose to soak it in how water? Or is that even necessary? Can you please show me step-by-step pictures of each one of these… twist out, coils, and kinky twist? It’ll be even better if you had a video for it.

Well Thanks!!!

Aw, I’m sorry. Unfortunately, if you want to get some kinky twists that actually look good (and not like tangled dreds the way my cousin’s looked because she did them herself) you should get them done professionally.

It really doesn’t cost that much and once you get them in, they are easy to maintain. All you have to do it keep twisting the roots of your hair. My neighbor has her sister twist her roots. Since the ends are already in kinky twists, it looks pretty good.

    Twist-out

I have fine hair. It is natural(4a), but in order to get a chunky look I have to twist my hair while it is wet(otherwise I end up with straight hair). I use 1inch parts and use some kind of gel(no alcohol) or Miss Jessie Curly Pudding(not necessary I just have it, so I use it). I then two strand twist my hair and leave it in overnight. If I take my hair down in the morning it will be crinkly, so I have to wet my hair in the shower or wash it with conditioner and then take down the twists after I get dressed. In the summer I don’t dry my hair, but in the winter I sit under a hooded dryer, so I won’t subject my wet hair to the cold temperature. The dryer dries my hair out, so I avoid this style on cold days when I can’t let my hair air dry. Be sure to do the style on clean hair.

    Coils

I can’t figure that one out myself.

    Kinky Twists

I actually did mine two weeks ago, but its hard to explain in words. Here’s a link to a good explanation video

You can put rods on the ends to make the hair curly, but you must dip the roded ends into boiling water.
