well your not going to be in an adult class considering your not at an adult. but if you've never taken dance at all before you will probably start out with 8 year olds weather you want to or not lol! but your instructor will move you up if you practice hard and get better! i am in the highest level at my studio and the competition team but ihave been doing dance since i was 3 and i'm 15!

Start in an intermediate class. You can either advance or go to beg./int. but start in the middle. Adult classes ... do you mean for exercise only or company class (advanced)? At fourteen I think you'd fair better in a class with adolescent students and/or teenagers. More importantly is to ask your instructor!! THAT is the best advice I can give you and cannot stress it enough. ; )

i would suggest that you take the adult class... you will not feel behind and you will not feel out of place... it might move a little faster than the children's class.... as for the exam... most teachers move you up when they feel you are ready.... if you really with to become a ballet teacher then you have your work cut out for you.... i don't want to ruin your dream but you might get bored with it and it's very ambitious because you are starting so late.... don't be discouraged though! good luck!

I suggest trying both and seeing which one you like the most and ask your instructor.
However if you were my student I would tell you to take adult..there are begginers in every class except advance (point) I say take an adult class you get more time(which is why it cost more) and you will be with older girls/women you can get advice from. Your dream can come true Take heart Perhaps if you stick to it you may be able to teach the younger students one day thats a start. Practice practice practice that will make you a good dancer stretch at home point your toes you may also take other forms of dance later on when you can such as tap, or lithurgical...most ballet schools require you take more than 1 dance class as it strengthens your abilities also why your at home remembering your steps cross your arms like you are doing your feet it has been proven to help your mind-body coordination Best of luck
